I came across this great article in Metroplus, supplement of 'The Hindu', my favourite Indian newspaper and felt like sharing it with you all. AD: You don't know? It's a craze on Facebook. It's about building cities, raising armies, training them and defending your city from outside attacks.

BC: I'm just too busy defending my wall.

The word 'love' has different connotations. 
It exists in different forms- parental love, romantic love, love between friends; all love that arises out of blood ties, etc  
No matter what form it is received in, love has immense power. 
It helps you cheer up; uplifts your mood and is a feel good factor.
Metamorphically speaking, love has the power to move mountains.
Love can also be a source of comfort when you're in the dumps.
It can motivate you when the situation demands.
It can provide solace when you feel all is lost.
Receiving love makes you feel 'wanted' and you will feel the need to return the love.
Selfless love can touch lives
Love strikes a chord in your life..
Love brightens up your life.

The Quest for Size Zero

Many of us dream of having the perfect hour-glass figure. We try to do all kinds of things in order to fulfill that desire. But in vain.

In today's materialistic world, looks do matter and there's no denying that!

Everyone of us has an innate desire to look good and be admired. Apart from that there are these glossy magazines and other media that depict waif like models wearing gorgeous clothes.

As a result, our desire increases manifold. But as we are just ordinary people, the perfect body seems to be out of reach for us.

So what do we do?

We go on crazy diets, starve ourselves and stay away from yummy food. JUST because we want to fit into clothes that are four sizes too small ! If at our current overweight size, we somehow fit into such clothes, then unsightly bulges will pop out. This will truly mar the image of perfection.

The Concept of 'Me' Time

Work has consumed all the time in my life. I've been busy, but surprisingly I've kind of enjoyed it. Whatever leisure time I get has been translated into sleeping time because at the end of the day I'm exhausted and can't bring myself to do anything else.

But I really miss 'me' time. I personally feel that 'me' time is something everyone should have daily for atleast 15 to 30 minutes. If that's not possible, you can translate a weekend/ holiday into a 'me' day. It's pure bliss, I tell you! 'Me' time is a concept I vouch for. 

But what is it?

'Me' time can include any activity that makes you happy- be it a hobby, idleness, putting thoughts on paper, being pampered (or pampering oneself), etc. The focus should be on personal fulfillment or pleasure. Your thoughts and feelings should hold centre stage. ( it is okay to be selfish once in a while)You will be lost from this world and all your worries will be left behind. The point is that you should have a good time, feel peaceful and emerge refreshed at the end of  'me' time. It will lead to an increase in your productivity and happiness levels.

                           Another new year has begun. A new chapter has begun in our lives, fresh and full of promises. It holds many secrets- some good , some bad but all unknown. This new year brings with it  a lot of hope and many wishes for a great life ahead.
